Crab cakes are one of my ultimate favourite things. But unfortunately I had to give up ordering them in restaurants.
Calling this a ‘boat’ makes it seem like something you’d expect to eat at a 70s themed dinner party (right after the fondue course), or a recipe from a dusty 60s cookbook that was given out free with the Sunday newspapers – the kind that also featured weird meat jellies and spinach casseroles.
Funny story. While making these crabcakes, I reached up to brush aside a stray hair from my eyes, realised I had jalapeno juice on my fingers and had just enough time to shriek before the terrible, terrible burning began.
