You have to love a food manufacturer who cares enough to put terrible puns on his packaging. Thank you, Newman Organics Dried Apricots, I will be buying you again.

Not least because that means I can make lots more of these delicious, easy and relatively healthy snacks.

I say ‘relatively’ because obviously they are high in sugars and therefore little energy bombs. Try not to guzzle four at once (slightly impressed side eye to Hubs) because that’ll probably result in belly-ache and a sugar crash.

Pecan & Apricot Balls (makes 10)

  • 1 cup dried apricots
  • 1 cup pecan pieces
  • the zest from a large naval orange
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  1. Combine all the above together in a blender and process until it forms a paste.
  2. Scoop out and roll into small balls using your hands.
  3. Put in the freezer to firm for an hour then store in the fridge.
