Do you remember the first time you told your friends and family that you were Paleo/Primal?
Among the various responses (some supportive, some…not so much), the one that irritated me most was: “Sounds pretty restrictive. If you don’t eat grains, dairy or legumes, what do you eat?”
It’s a common misconception that eating well means deprivation. If you know someone who thinks that way, show them the new cookbook from the team behind the Paleo recipe sharing site, Chowstalker.
Their community ebook is a collaborative effort between like-minded Paleo/Primal foodies who are opening up their kitchens to those who love to eat nourishing, real foods.
And this thing is a beast.
With over 250 pages including more than 130 recipes, this book is proof that eating well is not about deprivation, but about enjoying the food!
As well as recipes, each contributor was also asked to share their tips for saving money and time in their food planning so you’ve the collective wisdom of nearly 100 food bloggers to dip into as well.
Full disclaimer – Patty & Ron from Chowstalker asked me to submit something and I’m honoured to say that my contribution made the grade. They also sent me an advance copy and was really impressed at what they’ve put together.
The variety of recipes, the layout and the nice little touches like ‘Did You Know’ sidebars and tips for cooking on a budget make it a really useful resource.
